NN-XT

The NN-XT Advanced Sampler is a little bit like the NN19 sampler in Reason, but with a lot more possibilities.

The principle is the same as with any sampler: you assign different samples to different keyzones. Than when the sampler is told to play a note that belongs to a certain keyzone, it will play back the sample(s) assigned to that keyzone.

Now one of the cool things about the NN-XT, is that for each loaded sample individually, you can tweak all kinds of playback settings. Like the sample's starting point, filter, pitch, LFO, velocity... (I could go on for a while) can be tweaked to your needs. This is far more limited at the NN19

Also, the NN-XT can layer samples, meaning you can assign multiple samples to one keyzone. Translated in normal language: you press one key on your MIDI-controller, and 2 samples play back.

For each sample that is loaded in the NN-XT, a velocity range can be defined. That is, you can tell the NN-XT to play back one sample for a low-velocity note, and another for a high-velocity note!

The Alternate function allows you to set up keyzones with several samples that will cycle alternately. First note plays one, second note plays the second, third note plays the first again, etc.
